I don't know about this. In real life people might not want to say your art is bad because they don't want to hurt your feelings or because they're not artists they wouldn't know how to critique it. With the anonymity of the internet people might be more honest, though in this example very rude about it. And when shared with a community of other artists there are more eyes to see how a piece can be improved. Though I know at DA that's a pipe dream.
