Interesting Species
Cartoonists are strange creatures. I imagine trying to follow and document one would be about as unpredictable (and possibly boring) as documenting some wild animal.

To be honest, I sometimes imagine this kind of commentary in my head when waiting for genius to strike, as you worded it.
Sometimes it's more along the lines of "The cartoonist is truly a wondrous specimen to behold... Able to sit for hours waiting for that moment to strike, like a bird waiting to launch itself onto its prey."
I've watched way too many Planet Earth/National Geographic documentaries in my time...
